Adidas Pokémon Collection: Adidas celebrates Pokémon’s 30th anniversary with character-inspired sneakers
The Adidas Pokémon Collection has now been launched in line with the celebration of the Pokémon 30th anniversary as a series of limited edition sneakers inspired by the Pokémon franchise in terms of designs. The collection is a product of collaboration between Adidas’ footwear and the Pokémon in terms of color and designs. There are more than 10 designs in the Adidas Pokémon Collection. These are the Superstar II, Superstar Vintage, Adistar Control 5, Adistar XLG 2.0 and Samba. The sneaker collection has been created in relation to each particular Pokémon character, thus giving individual sneakers unique looks and design. Prices in the collection start at $60 and go up to $180, and family sizes are available. Availability of the sneaker collection may differ according to different models and sizes, as some of the sneakers are currently out of stock.
Pikachu, Charizard, Mewtwo, and Other Characters
One of the most distinctive characters included in the Adidas collaboration is Pikachu. There are also Pikachu-themed sneakers in Superstar II model available in yellow and white colorways. Evolution lines of other popular Pokémon characters are also given special attention in this collection. While Superstar II represents Charmander and Charmeleon characters, there is Superstar Vintage for Charizard. The collection also includes Ghost-type Pokémon characters such as Gastly, which appears in Adistar Control 3, Haunter, which can be found in Adistar Control 5, and Gengar in Adistar XLG 2.0. Also, there are Rayquaza on Adistar Control 5 and Mewtwo on Samba OG.
Pokémon Designs Feature Design Elements
Although there are some common branding elements in the whole collection, for example, the golden embroidered Pokémon x Adidas logo, each pair of sneakers has unique design elements. Mewtwo shoes have a soft purple color with the iridescent shine. In addition to that, these sneakers have a Pokémon shoe charm and another tag mentioning the move “Psystrike,” which belongs to Mewtwo. Charmander design is more colorful. It has the picture of the Fire-type Pokémon on the sneaker along with the details of the Pokémon’s move “Ember.” This character-specific information makes these shoes more unique in the sense that they have not only the look but also a reference to Pokémon. There is also one more element that can be found in these shoes, namely the design based on new Pokémon illustrations.
Limited Release Will Make It a Successful Collection
As a limited edition collaboration, it is assumed that availability will be one of the key features influencing buyers’ decisions. Currently, some models have already been marked as sold out, while others can still be bought in various sizes. The new collection is being released during a significant period for Pokémon, as it celebrates its 30-year anniversary with various collaborations within several brands and industries. The previous collaborations included fashion, footwear and even special food items. The Adidas collaboration becomes another significant participant of the celebration, as it combines iconic sneaker models with characters who have managed to stay relevant throughout the years. Adidas and Pokémon fans will have an opportunity to choose from different options – from more discreet models to those featuring the company’s characters prominently. The price range starts from $60 and goes up to $180.
