Ashwin Shares His View on Hardik Pandya's IPL Future
Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has added fresh fuel to the ongoing speculation surrounding Hardik Pandya's future in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Amid reports linking the Mumbai Indians captain with a possible move to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Ashwin believes Mumbai should agree to such a trade only under one major condition.
According to Ashwin, if KKR are serious about signing Hardik Pandya, they should be prepared to part with two of their biggest Indian stars—Rinku Singh and Harshit Rana.
Ashwin's Big Condition for KKR
Speaking about the potential blockbuster trade, Ashwin said that Mumbai Indians should not settle for anything less than a deal that significantly strengthens their squad.
He suggested that if KKR approach Mumbai for Hardik Pandya, the five-time IPL champions should demand Rinku Singh and Harshit Rana in exchange.
Ashwin also discussed reports suggesting that KKR could consider including overseas all-rounder Cameron Green in a potential swap. However, he pointed out that Green's availability could become uncertain if he prioritizes Australia's Ashes commitments, making Indian players like Rinku and Harshit far more valuable in a long-term trade.

Hardik Pandya's future has become one of the hottest topics ahead of the IPL 2027 season. Mumbai Indians endured a disappointing 2026 campaign, finishing ninth in the points table, leading to widespread speculation over possible changes within the franchise.
