BRICS is an international organization consisting of some major emerging nations of the world from different regions. The term BRICS is derived from the initial letters of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Why Was BRICS Formed?

Why Is BRICS Significant?
BRICS is significant since its member nations have an important economic weight, large populations, and growing importance in global politics. Why Is India Organizing BRICS Summit in 2026?
India holds the chairmanship of BRICS in 2026 and will organize the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit in New Delhi on September 12 and 13.
The summit will take place in Bharat Mandapam and is planned to involve leaders and representatives of BRICS member countries as well as BRICS partner and outreach countries.
The summit in 2026 will be significant for India because it allows discussing economic cooperation, global governance and issues related to international challenges with the leaders of the most significant countries.
Such topics as trade, investments, energy and food security, supply chains and digital cooperation may be covered in the summit.
