India's leading airline, IndiGo, celebrated its 20th anniversary at Mysuru Airport on Tuesday, joining nationwide celebrations to mark two decades of operations since its launch in 2006. The milestone highlights the airline's journey from a single domestic carrier to one of the world's fastest-growing airlines.
The anniversary celebrations at Mysuru Airport featured a ceremonial cake-cutting event attended by airport officials, IndiGo employees, ground staff, and passengers. The occasion recognized the airline's contribution to improving regional and national air connectivity, including its growing presence in Karnataka.
IndiGo officially completed 20 years of service on August 4, 2026, commemorating two decades of providing affordable and on-time air travel across India and international destinations. As part of the celebrations, the airline launched a special customer campaign titled "IndiGoFree", offering 20,000 free flight tickets (subject to terms and conditions) to mark the milestone.
Over the past two decades, IndiGo has expanded its network significantly, connecting hundreds of domestic and international routes while maintaining its focus on punctuality, operational efficiency, and affordable fares. The airline has also continued to strengthen connectivity to tier-2 and tier-3 cities, including Mysuru, boosting tourism, business travel, and regional economic growth.
