BRICS Summit 2026 Delhi: The 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit will take place in New Delhi, India, on 12 and 13 of September and will bring many important world leaders to the highly profiled international meeting. This year, India is a chair of BRICS, and the summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The BRICS Summit 2026 takes place at a very crucial period when the whole world is interested in the changes in geopolitics, international trade, and economic relations. The main topics to be discussed during the summit will include multilateralism, trade, investments, energy and food security, global supply chain and global governance.
Moreover, new possibilities for cooperation in the area of digital finance and international trade will be also under discussion at the summit, including the topic of possible local digital currency platform.
BRICS Members Attending the Summit
At the moment, BRICS consists of 11 member countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
There are some important leaders from these countries who are going to take part in the Delhi summit. They include Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The leaders expected to attend the summit are Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, will represent the UAE at the summit. Meanwhile, Brazilian representation will be provided by its Foreign Minister, Mauro Vieira.
Inclusion of such influential leaders makes the BRICS Summit an essential platform for discussion of economic cooperation and policy.
Partner and Outreach Countries
Alongside the core members of BRICS, many partner and outreach countries have also confirmed their attendance at the Delhi summit. The attending leaders include the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim, and Prime Minister of Thailand Anutin Charnvirakul.
Among others who are expected to participate are the Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Uganda will be represented by Vice-President Jessica Alupo.
UN Secretary-General Also Invited
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is another dignitary who has been invited to attend the BRICS Summit 2026.
The Delhi Summit will be seen as an ideal platform to discuss the various economic and political problems faced by BRICS countries and their partners. The issues of energy security, food security, investments, logistics and international trade are expected to form the core of the deliberations at the Delhi summit.
The Indian capital New Delhi is going to be at the focus of international diplomacy on September 12 and 13, considering that the BRICS Summit 2026 is going to be held there. This meeting of leaders of the biggest economies and partner countries is going to turn out to be one of the biggest diplomatic events of India this year.
The BRICS Summit 2026 will also reflect India's efforts in bridging different countries on matters of economic development and global governance.
