Nitin Nabin appoints Tarun Chugh as Gujarat in-charge and Jagdish Patel as Uttar Pradesh co-in-charge in key BJP organisational changes.
BJP Reshuffle:The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made more organizational restructuring under the newly appointed national president Nitin Nabin, who has brought in changes in the state leaders of the party. Recently, Tarun Chugh, MP Rajya Sabha, has been appointed as the in-charge of the BJP in Gujarat, while the senior leader Jagdish Patel has been appointed as the co-in-charge of the party in Uttar Pradesh.
Tarun Chugh Replaces Bhupender Yadav in Gujarat
Mr. Tarun Chugh, aged 53, has been put in charge of Gujarat on an immediate basis. The new appointment comes to a close on the near-decade-old tenure of Union Minister Bhupender Yadav as the in-charge of Gujarat for the BJP party. Mr. Chugh is said to be one of the experienced leaders in terms of organizational abilities of the BJP party and has been entrusted with various important roles within the BJP party before.
Jagdish Patel Gets Key Role in Uttar Pradesh
In another important appointment, the BJP has elevated 62-year-old Jagdish Patel as the co-in-charge of Uttar Pradesh for the party. In the recent reorganization of the party, Patel has been made a member of the BJP National Secretary panel. Considered to have close connections with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Patel has earned a reputation as an influential member within the organizational set-up of the party. His appointment is being considered as a very important one in light of the significance of Uttar Pradesh in Indian politics.
Focus on Organisational Strengthening
These recent appointments are part of an ongoing process of restructuring being conducted by BJP President Nitin Nabin. Several reappointments have been made at different organizational levels, including at the level of national office-bearers, state in-charge positions, and departments. The whole process is being done with the objective of improving coordination between the top leadership and the state organizations.
Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh Remain Crucial
Both Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh have significant strategic value for the BJP. Gujarat is the native state of the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, and has been under the stronghold of BJP for decades. On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh still continues to be the most politically important state in India because of the large number of Lok Sabha seats available there. With Tarun Chugh as the new leader of Gujarat and Jagdish Patel as the new leader of Uttar Pradesh, it seems that BJP is more interested in enhancing their organizational reach in these states.
