Vishkanya: Rajkummar Rao and Pratibha Ranta will headline Dharma Productions’ fantasy horror Vishkanya
Vishkanya Movie: It seems that Vishkanya will be bringing Rajkummar Rao and Pratibha Ranta together for Dharma Productions' highly anticipated fantasy horror film. The movie will be helmed by Sonal Joshi and is said to be conceived in an attempt to tell a concept-heavy story in a fantastical universe. Although no major details of the plot have been revealed, the makers aim to produce a movie with elements of fantasy, horror and existential fear. This is an interesting announcement as it comes with an unusual cast combination. Rajkummar Rao, an actor known for his versatility in the genres of comedy, drama, thriller and social issues, will collaborate with Pratibha Ranta, an actress who has garnered a lot of praise for her impressive debut in Laapataa Ladies.
Title Role to be Portrayed by Pratibha Ranta
Another important highlight of the Vishkanya movie is that Pratibha Ranta will be portraying the title role in the upcoming fantasy horror film. The actor will play the enigmatic role of Vishkanya in a mythical fantasy world with darker overtones. More details about the role and plot of the film haven’t been made public yet. Second Project with Dharma Production
This film shall also be the second project for Pratibha Ranta with Dharma Productions. This actress had collaborated with the production house earlier in Accused, thus Vishkanya would again see a partnership of the actor with Dharma Productions. Rajkummar Rao would also feature in his second project with Dharma Production. He had collaborated earlier with this production house in 2024 sports drama Mr. & Mrs. Mahi starring Janhvi Kapoor. With Rajkummar and Pratibha in the cast and Sonal Joshi directing the film, this is definitely an intriguing cast.
Dharma Productions Expanding 2027-28 Slate with Vishkanya
Vishkanya is part of Dharma Productions' extensive range of movies that are in development for 2027-28. The movie studio is working on various films, spanning multiple genres, indicating a diverse slate in the coming years. One such movie is Naagzilla, which has been termed as a fantasy film. There is also Raj Mehta's Lag Ja Gale starring Tiger Shroff, Lakshya, and Janhvi Kapoor. An interesting film in Dharma Productions' pipeline includes Prosit Roy's untitled romantic thriller featuring Lakshya and Vedika Pinto. The studio is planning to make a big budget spy thriller based on R.N. Kao who was the founder of Indian Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW). There is also a divine epic from the studio featuring the love story of Radha and Krishna.
Expectations from Vishkanya
Despite not revealing the entire story yet, it seems that Vishkanya will be a movie which would try to construct an entirely new mythical world.
