Vibe Box Office Collection Day 1: Kunal Kemmu's film gets a modest opening
Vibe Box Office Collection: Opening Day Collection of Kunal Kemmu’s New Film Vibe at Box Office: The new directorial offering of Kunal Kemmu, the comedy-action film Vibe, has seen a moderate reception at the Indian box office. Directed by Kunal Kemmu, who made his directorial debut in 2024 with Madgaon Express, Vibe hit theatres on Friday and earned an estimated gross of ₹1.50 crore in India on its opening day, sources at Sacnilk report. On comparing with Madgaon Express, the opening collection of Vibe is moderate, as it is on par with Madgaon Express's opening day collection, which is the directorial debut of Kunal Kemmu released in 2024.
Collection of Vibe at Box Office on Day 1
According to the data, Vibe has collected approximately ₹1.50 crore India net in one day. The movie played in 3,194 shows and had a total occupancy rate of around 13.38% on the first day of Friday. There was an increase in the number of people attending the movie on each passing time slot of the day. The occupancy rate in morning shows was approximately 6%, while that of afternoon shows was about 11.31%. The occupancy rate of evening shows stood at 14%. From the above occupancy rates, it is evident that the audiences' attendance was higher in later shows than in the morning ones.
Highest Occupancy in Delhi-NCR
Among the major cities, Delhi-NCR had the highest occupancy for the Vibe movie, which was around 13% out of 440 screenings. This was followed by Pune, Kolkata, and Hyderabad, where the occupancy was around 11% for each of these cities. Mumbai had around 11% occupancy for the movie, screening for approximately 328 times. This shows that Vibe got a relatively equal response from major cities on the day of release.
Vibe vs Madgaon Express Day 1 Collection
Surprisingly, Vibe starts off with the same Day 1 collection as Madgaon Express. Kunal Kemmu's directorial debut in 2024 also made about ₹1.50 crore net in India on its Day 1. Madgaon Express also received appreciation from the audience and then acquired an audience. Vibe is starting with a similar collection but will see how far its collection goes depending on its performance over the weekends.
Vibe vs Daayra Box Office Collection
Vibe has released along with Kareena Kapoor's film called Daayra, providing another choice for the audience at the box office. The reports reveal that Daayra collected approximately ₹90 lakh India net on Day 1. This crime thriller features Kareena Kapoor along with Prithviraj Sukumaran and has also been released on the same Day as Vibe. So, on Day 1, Vibe made more collections as compared to Daayra.
Vibe Versus Other Recent Films
Kunal Kemmu's film has opened ahead of a couple of other recent films in terms of the openings reported for the films' opening-day figures. Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi's Ek Din has reportedly made approximately ₹1.15 crore on its opening day, and the opening-day numbers for Imtiaz Ali's Main Vaapas Aaunga have also been approximately ₹1.15 crore. But with Vibe opening at ₹1.50 crore, it has seen a marginally better opening day figure than the other two films. However, the film's first weekend will play an important role in deciding how the film will fare domestically at the box office. At present, Vibe has opened with an opening-day figure of ₹1.50 crore in India net, similar to the opening day figure of Kunal Kemmu's Madgaon Express.
