Sai Pallavi OM Chapter 1 Udhiram: Actress Introduced as CBI Officer Nithya Reddy

Sai Pallavi OM Chapter 1 Udhiram has drawn attention after the makers unveiled the actress’s first look as CBI officer Nithya Reddy. The upcoming action thriller, starring Dhanush and Mammootty, is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 20. The character reveal introduces Sai Pallavi in a determined investigative role, marking an important glimpse into the film’s story.

Sai Pallavi Takes on the Role of CBI Officer Nithya Reddy

The makers released a one-minute-and-43-second video introducing Sai Pallavi as Nithya Reddy, a Central Bureau of Investigation officer assigned to investigate red sandalwood smuggling. The character is presented as a young officer who combines honesty, intelligence and professional experience. According to the character introduction, Nithya comes from Naidupet in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district. Her personal history also gives the role an emotional dimension. Her father, an Indian Forest Service officer, was killed while protecting forests. This background connects Nithya’s story to forest conservation and the risks faced by officials working against illegal activities. Her investigation into red sandalwood smuggling is expected to place her in a challenging situation, although the makers have not revealed the full details of the plot. The announcement highlighted the character’s courage, describing it as her defining quality. The first-look video offers viewers an initial impression of Sai Pallavi’s appearance and role in the film.

Dhanush and Mammootty Lead the Upcoming Thriller

Titled OM: Chapter 1 – Udhiram: The Blood Wood, the film is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. It features Dhanush and Mammootty in lead roles, with Sai Pallavi among the principal cast members. The project also includes Sreeleela and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles. However, the makers have not disclosed complete details about every character or how the different storylines will connect. The film’s subject, centred on an investigation into red sandalwood smuggling, brings together crime, law enforcement and forest-related issues. Sai Pallavi’s character is positioned at the centre of the investigation, while the presence of established performers such as Dhanush and Mammootty has added to interest in the project. The title Udhiram, accompanied by the subtitle The Blood Wood, also points towards the serious and potentially intense nature of the story.

Why Was the Film’s Release Date Changed?

OM: Chapter 1 – Udhiram is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 20. The film was previously planned to arrive on October 16, but its release was postponed. Dhanush announced the change last month, citing the release of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 and expressing respect for the superstar. The revised date gives the film a different theatrical window. The November release will give audiences an opportunity to see Sai Pallavi in a role that differs from many of her familiar screen appearances. Her portrayal of a CBI officer also places the character within a crime-investigation narrative rather than a conventional romantic storyline.

Music and Technical Team

The film’s music has been composed by Sai Abhyankkar. Ezhil Arasu K. is handling cinematography, while R. Kalaivanan is responsible for editing. The project is produced by Shraddha Agrawal, Dhanush and Azmat Jagmag. With its combination of an investigative storyline, a prominent cast and a theatrical release plan, the film is among the upcoming releases to watch. For now, the first-look video has offered a glimpse of Sai Pallavi as Nithya Reddy, a CBI officer whose work involves investigating the illegal trade in red sandalwood. More details about the plot, the other characters and the film’s action sequences are expected to emerge as the November 20 release approaches.
