Ram Kapoor Gets Emotional on Lock Upp 2

Mumbai: Actor Ram Kapoor has made everyone teary-eyed after telling a very emotional story in the ongoing show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa. Talking about the last episode of the reality show, where the actor revealed how he stood by his decision when his father, Anil Kapoor, refused to get treated for the relapse of pancreatic cancer.

Speaking during an emotional task in the show, Ram Kapoor remembered that his father had been suffering from pancreatic cancer but had decided to end his life after relapsing during the time of the pandemic. As per the actor, his father felt that he had led a full life and did not want to waste his rest of the life in treatment.

Ram informed that he received a call from his father and wife, Gautami Kapoor, where he told them about his decision and also said that he did not want to take any more treatment and was afraid of dying alone.He went on to mention that his father wanted him to be by his side till the last breath, an issue that proved to be one of the toughest challenges of his life.

He explained that initially, he had some difficulties accepting his father’s decision; however, after understanding how firm he was, he came to respect his wishes. Ram mentioned that his father had already conveyed that even if he (the actor) could not give emotional support to him, he would still go ahead and complete the process. With the feeling that he had no other option, the actor assured that he would be by his side for the rest of his journey.

Talking about the experience, Ram Kapoor mentioned that during the time his father was admitted in ICU, he used to be with him when no one else knew that there was nothing being done to save his life. He further mentioned that all his father wanted from him was that he should hold his hand and be with him till the last moment. He added that his father never had any fear of death but didn’t want his family to grieve over him.

Ram also came forward to say that the event left him with long-lasting effects in his personal life. He said that even after five years from that time, the emotional decisions which he took back then are having some impact on his personal relations within the family members. Ram revealed that even today, his mother and sister refuse to talk to him because of the situation that happened regarding his father's last desire. In spite of all the emotional pain, he says that he has no regrets as he honored the promise that he gave to his father.

The revelation left everyone emotionally shaken inside the Lock Upp house and many inmates appreciated Ram Kapoor for opening up so openly regarding a very sensitive part of his life.

This is not the first time that Ram Kapoor opens up in the reality show regarding his personal experience. He had earlier opened up in an episode of the show that he was sexually abused when he was 13 years old at his boarding school.It was his fear of not knowing how to respond in the situation that made him freeze in the process, and it proved to be quite a traumatizing experience for him.

Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa is hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh and involves contestants such as Shreya Kalra, Shivangi Joshi, Harshad Chopda, Akanksha Chamola, Akanksha Choudhary, Sufi Motiwala, Dheeraj Dhoopar, and Varun Yadav. As the game nears the finals, the program still garners popularity because of the emotional revelations of the contestants.
