Ajay Devgn and Tabu lead a tense finale that gives the Drishyam story a fitting ending

Drishyam 3 Movie Review & Rating: The much-awaited conclusion to the Drishyam franchise delivers a tense and emotional chapter while staying connected to the moral questions that have defined Vijay Salgaonkar's journey. With Ajay Devgn and Tabu leading the cast, the film combines suspense, family drama and courtroom tension to bring the story to its conclusion. The Drishyam franchise began with the Malayalam film starring Mohanlal and was later remade in Hindi with Ajay Devgn in the lead. The first Hindi film introduced Vijay Salgaonkar, a cable television operator and cinema enthusiast who goes to extraordinary lengths to protect his family after they become involved in a crime. The second installment expanded the story after the discovery of remains connected to the old case. It kept audiences invested in Vijay's carefully constructed alibi while bringing back Meera Deshmukh, played by Tabu, as the mother seeking answers about her missing son.

In Drishyam 3, the Salgaonkar family continues to live under the shadow of the past. Vijay, his wife Nandini and their daughters are still aware that the secret surrounding the old murder could potentially destroy their lives. The fear of being exposed remains an important part of the family's emotional journey. Tabu's Meera Deshmukh, meanwhile, is struggling with the loss of her only son. Her grief has not disappeared with time. Rajat Kapoor's Mahesh attempts to support her as they continue searching for some form of closure. The arrival of Crime Branch officer Rajveer Tomar, played by Jaideep Ahlawat, changes the situation. Unlike the previous investigators, Tomar approaches the cold case with determination and brings fresh pressure to the Salgaonkar family. Ahlawat gives the character a distinctive personality, adding another layer to the investigation.

Prakash Raj also joins the story as prosecutor Indrajit Shetty. His presence adds intensity to the courtroom portions, while Samvedna Suwalka plays junior defence lawyer Gayathri Mohan. At the centre of the film remains the moral complexity surrounding Vijay's actions. The story raises questions about guilt, justice and whether protecting one's family can justify crossing ethical boundaries. The characters have lived with the consequences of the crime for years, and the emotional burden becomes increasingly difficult to ignore. Director Abhishek Pathak, along with writers Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Sheikh, keeps the film rooted in the familiar Drishyam style. The narrative combines suspenseful moments with emotional exchanges and dialogue-heavy sequences. The film also makes room for occasional humour without completely breaking the seriousness of the story. Ajay Devgn once again fits comfortably into Vijay Salgaonkar's character. His restrained performance works particularly well during moments when Vijay has to remain calm despite mounting pressure. The character's confidence and ability to stay several steps ahead of the investigation continue to drive the thriller.

However, Tabu arguably gets some of the most emotionally powerful moments. Her portrayal of a mother dealing with the permanent absence of her child gives the film a strong emotional foundation. Her expressions communicate grief without requiring excessive dialogue. Jaideep Ahlawat also makes an impression as Rajveer Tomar, bringing energy to the investigation. Prakash Raj adds weight to the courtroom sequences, while the returning cast members maintain continuity with the earlier films. One drawback is the background score, which can sometimes feel excessively loud and overpower scenes that could have worked better with restraint. Overall, Drishyam 3 brings the Salgaonkar story to a dramatic conclusion while retaining the suspense and emotional conflicts that made the franchise popular. The film gives its central characters an ending that feels connected to their long journey.
