Bigg Boss 20 to Premiere on September 6 With South Indian Editions!
Bigg Boss 20: Popular Bigg Boss is making a comeback in September with plans of launching several language versions of the program in September. Bigg Boss Hindi 20 with Salman Khan as the host will make its debut on September 6. Apart from Bigg Boss Hindi 20, Bigg Boss Malayalam 8, Bigg Boss Tamil 10, and Bigg Boss Kannada 13 are also scheduled to premiere in the same month.
Bigg Boss Telugu 10 is also expected to make its debut on September 6, however, its premiere date is still under consideration. The launch of all four south Indian versions of Bigg Boss and Bigg Boss Hindi 20 together will become an impressive debut of the reality show franchise.
Salman Khan, Mohanlal and Vijay Sethupathi Make a Comeback
Salman Khan will host Bigg Boss Hindi 20, continuing the trend of being one of the hosts of the show. The Hindi version of the show will draw a lot of attention with a new line-up of contestants and the usual drama, tasks, and scandals in the show. In regional versions of the show, Mohanlal will be the host of Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 while Vijay Sethupathi will host Bigg Boss Tamil 10. Sudeepa will be the host of Bigg Boss Kannada 13. For Bigg Boss Telugu 10, Nagarjuna is also expected to return as host, although the September 6 premiere remains unconfirmed at this stage.
Bigg Boss South Has a Huge Audience
However, the South Indian iterations of Bigg Boss have garnered a good number of audience in recent times. According to the data provided by JioStar, the total number of viewers from the Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada iterations amounts to more than 300 million, with the viewing minutes reaching about 270 billion in South India. Bigg Boss Malayalam has also gained a massive reach in Kerala, while the Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada iterations have continued to attract massive TV and digital audiences.
Bigg Boss Tamil and Digital Reach
The other version, Bigg Boss Tamil, has also seen success with Vijay Sethupathi. The ninth season is reported to have earned about 1.5 billion viewing minutes on its opening day in October 2025. In addition, the digital viewership has become an important aspect of the Bigg Boss franchise. The regional iterations are available for 24/7 live streaming on JioHotstar and provide an opportunity for the viewers to watch the contestants beyond the television shows.
With Bigg Boss Hindi 20 and various regional editions set for airing at the same time, September 6 could be considered among the greatest launch days of the Bigg Boss franchise.
