A nine-page letter circulating in Ayodhya has triggered speculation about former Trust general secretary Champat Rai’s possible return ahead of the Ram Temple Trust meeting.
An eight-page letter about the history of Ram Janmabhoomi movement, legal proceedings, setting up of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, and construction of the Ram Temple has brought about talks in Ayodhya prior to the trust’s important meeting slated for September 3.The meeting will see the selection of the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ram Temple Trust amid the row over the donation theft issue. The distribution of the letter has renewed speculations.
Speculation Grows Around Champat Rai’s Possible Return
A large number of people in Ayodhya feel that the letter may have something to do with Champat Rai, the former general secretary of the Trust, but this has yet to be officially confirmed. Rai had stepped down from his post due to some controversies associated with the donation theft case of the temple.According to the sources, there has been no direct allegation made against Champat Rai by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that has been formed by the government of Uttar Pradesh to investigate the issue. Hence, many people are talking about the possibility that he is trying to regain an important position in the Trust.Rai has reportedly been meeting saints and seers in Ayodhya ahead of the September 3 meeting.
Trust Meeting on September 3 in Focus
The approaching meeting of the Trust is of considerable importance since it is assumed that it will make the final decision about choosing the first CEO of the Ram Temple Trust. This is an important time for the project because it reaches another phase of development.It is also assumed that the CEO will have considerable influence on temple functioning, administration, and the implementation of projects connected with the Ram Mandir.

Regardless of the increasing speculation, Champat Rai has refrained from giving any official statement regarding the letter or reports associating him with it. On the other hand, chairman of the Trust, Nripendra Misra, is said to have remarked that he is unaware of the source of the letter.
