Heavy Rain in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh

Uttarakhand is going to continue to be one of the wettest states in the coming week. According to IMD, widespread to fairly widespread rains are predicted to occur in the state between August 25 and 31, while isolated heavy rainfall can be expected on August 25-26 and 30-31. Widespread rainfall is anticipated in West Uttar Pradesh on August 25. Widespread rainfall can occur in East Uttar Pradesh between August 25 and 27, while isolated heavy rainfall is predicted to happen in East Uttar Pradesh on August 26-27. Very heavy rains were forecasted in isolated parts of East Uttar Pradesh on August 25. Travellers planning to visit the Himalayan region or Uttar Pradesh should consider checking the local advisories before embarking on their journey.

Rainfall is also Expected in the Northeast and Hills

The Northeast is also likely to stay wet for most parts of the week. Arunachal Pradesh may get fairly widespread to widespread rains from August 25-26 and then again from August 30-31. Assam and Meghalaya are likely to witness widespread rains from August 25 as well as from August 28-31. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura may get rains throughout August 25-31. There will also be isolated heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam-Meghalaya from August 25-31. Very heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from August 29-30.

Odisha, Chhattisgarh & Madhya Pradesh

The Central and Eastern parts of India would also continue to be active in the coming week. Moderate to widespread rains are expected in West Madhya Pradesh on 25-26 August, whereas widespread rains may occur in East Madhya Pradesh from 25-29 August. Widespread rains may occur in Chhattisgarh from 25-31 August. Isolated heavy rains may occur in West Madhya Pradesh from 25-27 August, and in Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh from 26-29 August. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains may occur in Odisha, especially from 28-30 August.

Konkan, Goa, and Maharashtra

Active monsoon conditions are likely to prevail in western parts of India as well. IMD forecasts fairly widespread to widespread rains over Konkan and Goa during August 25-31. Scattered rains are likely to occur in Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada during most part of the week. Rainfall is also expected to take place in Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch during August 25-31. Isolated heavy rains are likely to occur over Madhya Maharashtra during August 25-26.

Rain for South India Also Expected

There are other regions in the South that will also receive rain. The coastal areas of Karnataka will receive scattered to widespread rain from August 25 through to 31, and Kerala and Lakshadweep can expect widespread rain in the period August 25-28. The IMD has predicted isolated heavy rain in Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on August 25, and isolated very heavy rain in Kerala from August 25 to 26.
