80th Independence Day: PM Modi Unveils Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047

NEW DELHI:Prime Minister Narendra Modi, spoke to the nation from the Red Fort on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, and kind of urged citizens to think big ,then work together towards the goal of “Viksit Bharat” by 2047. He also paid tribute to freedom fighters and recalled their sacrifices ,saying that India has changed a lot over the last decade. According to him, the country is now the world’s fastest-growing major economy.

The Prime Minister urged citizens to help in the task of building a developed nation, by the centenary year of India’s independence. He said it plainly, that reaching this aim will need joint, collective work from the government, industries, and society, in a kind of shared determination. Modi also indicated that reforms plus innovation are set to matter a lot in how India moves forward. He showed full confidence in the country’s youth, farmers, workers, women, and entrepreneurs, adding that they are able to accomplish those ambitious national goals, even when the road feels complicated.

Free Online Coaching for Competitive Exams

One of the key announcements made during the address was the launch of free online coaching for students preparing for competitive examinations. Modi said the initiative would reduce the financial burden on middle-class and economically weaker families who spend significant amounts on coaching institutes.

The Prime Minister noted that access to quality educational resources should not depend on a family's financial status and assured students that technology-driven learning opportunities would be expanded.

Focus on Education and Healthcare Expansion

Modi, while highlighting a few wins in the education sector, said that India has added almost 650 new universities over the past ten years. He also brought up how the National Education Policy is being rolled out, and how higher education opportunities have been widened across the country. The Prime Minister then added that medical education has seen a solid kind of growth too, with the count of medical seats rising to more than double since 2014. He went on to say these steps are essentially strengthening Indias healthcare infrastructure plus its workforce.

Women's Reservation and Economic Growth

Modi appealed to every political party, to support the execution of 33% reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies. He said it is like the “need of the hour”, and urged the parties to come together on the matter. On the economic front, the Prime Minister also pointed out India’s trade arrangements with many countries, and he asked MSMEs , farmers, as well as exporters to benefit from the widening global markets. He underlined that high quality benchmarks must be kept steady so that India’s international competitiveness stays strong.

Energy Security and Infrastructure Development

The Prime Minister underscored how crucial energy security is, plus a drive toward self reliance, and in the same breath he pointed at India’s progress—renewables, nuclear power expansion, semiconductor manufacturing, and the whole critical minerals picture. Modi also mentioned that railway electrification has now hit 100% due to his government work, whereas only about 30% electrification was achieved in the earlier nine decades. He added that these steps are steadily lowering dependence on imported fuel, and they’re also meant to back environmental sustainability.

Warning Against 'Dimagi Naxals'

In his speech, Modi said that Maoist violence is getting close to its finish in the country and he called for finding and isolating, what he termed as “ Dimagi Naxals ”, meaning people who are fueling unrest via extremist ideologies. He also added that the government has made real strides, in curbing Naxal influence, and in driving development for places that were once heavily affected.
