After Love & War Movie 2027, Alia Bhatt could reunite with Bhansali for a revamped Inshallah
Love & War Movie 2027 is currently one of the most anticipated Bollywood films, but the Sanjay Leela Bhansali project could also pave the way for another major collaboration. Alia Bhatt and Bhansali are reportedly discussing the possibility of reviving Inshallah after the release of Love & War. Inshallah was originally announced in 2019 with Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan as the lead pair. The project generated considerable excitement because it marked Bhansali’s planned collaboration with Salman after several years. However, the film was eventually shelved after Salman reportedly walked out of the project just days before shooting was scheduled to begin.
Now, according to a report by Mid-day, Bhansali and Alia are once again considering Inshallah. However, the reported plan is not to simply restart the original film. Instead, the filmmaker is said to be working on a new version of the project, with the basic story expected to remain while the screenplay and other material are being reworked. The casting remains one of the biggest unanswered questions. Salman Khan was originally supposed to play the male lead, while speculation earlier suggested that Shah Rukh Khan could take over the role. However, the latest report indicates that no actor has been officially locked for the part. The decision will reportedly depend on the final screenplay. A source quoted by Mid-day said that Bhansali does not generally finalise casting until he is satisfied with the script. Salman is currently occupied with another project from Raj and DK, while Shah Rukh Khan is yet to decide on his next film following King. The revamped version of Inshallah could also potentially require a younger actor.
For Alia Bhatt, the possibility of Inshallah returning would mark another important chapter in her association with Bhansali. The actor first worked with the filmmaker on Gangubai Kathiawadi, after Inshallah had been shelved. The film became a major success and an important milestone in Alia’s career. Her performance received widespread appreciation, and she went on to win the National Award for Best Actress. Before any decision on Inshallah is made, however, Bhansali and Alia are focused on Love & War Movie 2027. The film stars Alia Bhatt alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The makers have already introduced the three characters through their posters, creating significant anticipation among moviegoers. Love & War is scheduled to release in theatres on January 21, 2027.
