Indian Stocks in Focus Today: The Indian stock market may be set for a weak start today, Tuesday, August 25, amid negative global market sentiment. Several factors are contributing to the same, including poor performance of some Asian markets, selling of technology stocks before Nvidia results and new sanctions by the US on Iran. GIFT Nifty futures were seen falling in the morning session, indicating that the domestic markets may start off with a soft note. In the previous session, the US markets closed on a negative note with the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones indices falling 0.3 percent each and the Nasdaq losing 0.76 percent. In light of the above, a number of stocks may continue to make the headlines due to various reasons.

Also, TCS would be under the limelight of investors due to the approval of the board regarding the acquisition of 100 per cent equity share of MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, an IT consultancy firm and a subsidiary of Porsche AG. The deal carries an enterprise value of €320 million. The deal would help TCS expand their presence within the automotive technology environment.

The good operational performance is anticipated to be a positive element for the investors' sentiments.

According to L&T, its Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore unit has bagged an order valued at over ₹15,000 crore for a gas compression plants project from a West Asian company. The order comes as a result of a letter of award issued in 2025-26.
