Ather Energy has launched the Konarc electric scooter at an introductory starting price of Rs 99,999

Ather Konarc Electric Scooter has gone on sale in India. It is Ather Energy’s newest electric scooter for a wider audience. The launch took place at the company’s Community Day on August 29. Ather says the scooter is made for everyday riders, not just for people who want the faster, sport feel of the 450 series. Pricing for the Ather Konarc starts at Rs 99,999. With this, it becomes a key part of Ather’s electric scooter lineup. The scooter sits in the Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.44 lakh band. Because of this, it will face more direct competition from other well known mass-market electric scooters.

Ather Konarc: price and range options

Ather Energy is selling the Konarc in a few variants. The base model is rated for 100 km. It is priced at Rs 99,999. The mid variant offers 125 km. Its price is Rs 1,21,999. Ather says the 100 km and 125 km models will be available in September 2026. The higher range version is also on the way. There is a 161 km variant planned at Rs 1,44,999. A 200 km version is shown for the third quarter of 2027. Ather’s plan also mentions the Konarc Z. The launch details list a 125 km and a 161 km option for it.

Ather Goes After the Mass EV Buyers

Ather just launched the Konarc. This looks like a new direction for the brand. Earlier, the 450 model line leaned toward a sporty feel. The Konarc feels more basic and built for everyday use, even for families. At Rs 99,999, the scooter enters one of the toughest price areas in India for electric two-wheelers. Ather seems to want people who are shopping for a cheaper electric option. It also wants them to stay within a known EV name. The Konarc also drops below the starting price of Ather's own Rizta. With its current launch price, it sits near options like the TVS iQube and the Bajaj Chetak C2501, based on the details shared at launch.

Everyday use first

The Konarc is not built like the 450 series. It leans more toward daily riding than pure speed or racing. The goal seems aimed at people who want something practical. It also fits commuters and families better than a performance focus. Before the official launch, people had already seen pictures of the production scooter. Those early images helped buyers understand the shape and look before launch day. The design uses a standard scooter style, so it should feel familiar to many riders.

More range choices for buyers

Ather is also offering more than one range option. There is a 100 km version, which should cost less at the start. For riders who want more distance, there is a 125 km model. A 161 km variant is also mentioned as planned. This setup can cover different needs while keeping the same general scooter line. If someone mostly rides short routes in the city, the 100 km option may be enough. For longer daily trips, the higher range models can make more sense. Ather also plans a 200 km model. That points to more versions coming later for the Konarc platform.

Konarc: Ather goes deeper into EVs

Ather’s new Konarc is meant to move past its usual image of premium and high performance. With this model, the brand is stepping into the mass market. That means it will meet strong rivals from well known electric scooter makers across India. The Konarc is expected to start under Rs 1 lakh. It will also offer more than one range option. The design is said to be made with families in mind. For Ather Energy, this could turn into a key scooter model. Ather says two variants should arrive in September 2026. After that, the company plans more versions later. How well the Konarc sells will likely come down to what buyers think about the price, the range, and where it sits in the market as competition grows.
